“Maria Walsh MEP keeps to a commitment she made before the European election”.
Maria Walsh MEP kept to a commitment she made to us before she was elected an M.E.P. by dropping into our office in Kiltimagh.
Maria is from Shrule Co Mayo and came to national attention when she won the 2014 International Rose of Tralee competition. Winning this prestigious competition gave her a national platform and an opportunity to meet and speak with lots of people, young and old about inclusion and what it means to be a part of ‘Today’s Ireland’.
She secured the Fine Gael nomination to run for the European Elections at their convention in Mullingar, February 22nd 2019 and at the age of 31, she was the youngest candidate seeking election in the European Elections.
Maria is an advocate for small businesses – agri and otherwise, and is determined to support small farmers and also encourage the growth of small businesses in rural Ireland. She wants to help bring Ireland up to speed on climate change issues and also make 2022 the European Year for Mental Health.
