“Always at the end of the phone “
I would like to thank Victim Assistance for their help through the difficult time I had following my assault. My case had been dragging on and I can’t express how helpful they were from the start, from listening to my story, meeting and advising me about what I should do. You were always on the other end of the phone even for something as simple as a chat. You have been fantastic to deal with and I cannot speak highly enough for the support given which has helped me greatly to get me where I am now. I would highly recommend any person that has been a victim of a crime to contact Victim Assistance.
“I felt safe again in my own home “
My home was broken into some months after my husband suddenly passed away. The suddenness of his death left me in a very bad situation emotionally and after the break-in, I didn’t feel safe in my own home anymore. I was in a bad way and was trying to cope with his loss and deal with the break-in. I didn’t know who to turn too but thankfully a friend referred me to Victim Assistance. As soon as I spoke to them, they immediately made me feel at ease. They listened to my story and then arranged a visit to meet with me during which they pointed out a course of action for me to follow. I feel much better now, and I can’t thank Victim Assistance enough for their time and great support.
“My whole experience is one of incredible support”
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Victim Assistance.
I was referred to Victim Assistance and my whole experience is one of incredible support. The empathy, understanding and the encouragement given was remarkable. They helped me stay focused, encouraged me to keep going and gave me practical and helpful advice. All of which was a great relief and helped with the stress. I didn’t feel alone in the crisis that I faced.
They were always available and contactable and made follow-up calls on top of visits to my home. I will be eternally grateful to the coordinator and the volunteers that visited and supported me.
“Attentive, sympathetic and genuinely interested in our story “
My family and I have been through a tough couple of years and we were starting to think it was never going to end. That was until we were put in contact with Victim Assistance.
From our very first conversation with the coordinator, it was obvious just how seriously they took their job. The two volunteers that visited us were very attentive, empathetic and genuinely interests in our story. We were instantly put at ease by them both and didn’t feel rushed at any point during the meeting – it was all about us and they wanted to hear our story. They gave us a lot of valuable advice and put us in contact with other organisations that could help us through the situation that we were in.
Since our initial meeting, we have met them again and have had multiple phone conversations which have reassured us that we were not alone any more and we are eternally grateful for their support. They have made a huge difference to our whole families lives and we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.
To anyone that has been a victim of crime, I would recommend getting in contact with Victim Assistance. They are such a great organisation and go above and beyond the call of duty to help victims of crime.
